In the Book of Revelation chapter 19, we see described the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! The Day of the Wedding has arrived! It is a day that had been alluded throughout the Bible and one that Jesus also gave many hints about! The Bible is all about Jesus Christ and the continuing revelation of who He is and what He has come for: – to be a Saviour and acquire a Bride – His Church. Revelation 19, verses 7 to 9 say:- 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
The Word says we are clothed in fine linen garments and a robe of righteousness. These are garments not of our making. The blood and sacrifice of Jesus means our own sin-stained clothing has been removed and replaced with pure white linen as if we have never sinned. Oh, Praise Jesus! And it is His righteousness that is placed upon us. Isaiah 61: 10 outlines this and uses the ‘bridegroom and bride’ as wearing these! The Bible is prophecy!
The wedding of Jesus The Lamb, is a most fundamental part of the Bible and a truth that most Christians do not think of much. But it is most central to our faith and future. Following any wedding, the lives of the individuals have changed in an instant. Your future is now with Christ and imagine this, Christ’s future is with His Church – His Bride! You! As part of the body of Christ.
Whatever we go through and face in life, as a consequence of following Jesus, know that there is a day coming – a HUGE DAY where it will be like no other! You do not want to miss this event – and only those wearing the correct garments are permitted entry. Look to Jesus, receive His gift of salvation by repenting of your sins and accept Him as Lord and Saviour. He will then clothe you with His Righteousness and The Holy Spirit that is given to His church, will live in you always strengthening you and keeping your eyes on Jesus! Alleluia!
