From the Gospel of John, chapter 19 verse 30, we read the following profound statement: – “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished”, and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
He said “It is finished” and He gave up His Spirit. Jesus surrendered it up for us. Jesus had completed His painful journey to the cross. It was the will of the Father.
He endured the cross and all that it entailed. He did it for me. He did it for you. There is not much anybody can add to this. Our precious Saviour did it. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3: 16.
