Every year there are gifts and presents given and shared. But, sometimes as the festivities come to a close, the gifts that were once so popular or were the ‘must-have’ present for the year can easily be forgotten! It is not too often that some gifts can make an impact to change lives! Firstly, our own lives and those around us but also make an impact further afield.
But the gift of Jesus Christ surely has an impact not just for Christmas, but for a lifetime and beyond to eternal life! Receiving this gift of salvation and redemption for our lives is a ‘must-have’ and is to be shared to all those around!
In receiving Jesus, we have now received the seed of the Spirit that leads to eternal life. Though we are still in these bodies – the flesh, we have now been born again of the Spirit. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:46-48 – 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
Though we remain in these bodies with the frailties they bring, we have the seed of the Spirit in us. We are to learn to walk by the Spirit and not the flesh. Let us walk with Christ, Him being this incredible gift with determination to listen by and to act by the Spirit!
In 2025, let the light of the Spirit of Christ in us, shine before people in an ever-increasing darkened world. Because it will. There are many signs that clearly indicate the soon second coming of Christ. Let the Spirit and the Bride say, “Come Lord Jesus, come.” (Revelation 22:17)
