Throughout the Bible, we see man’s continued efforts in building a name for themselves. Kingdoms come and go, but the cycle remains the same. In Genesis chapter 11, we see the story regarding the Tower of Babel. Verse 4 and 5 says:- “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built.
The Lord put a stop to that plan by confusing the language and dispersed man across the world. But here we are today where language amongst other things are not much of a bother today. The Lord knew, that today would come and that man certainly would be too creative for his own good.
As man continue to build, conquer lands, try and be their own ‘god’ and answer to all humanity and earth’s problems, Jesus is building a kingdom. The Kingdom of Christ is not a Kingdom of this world but is one that is being built within the walls of HIs Church! Jesus knows the ‘living stones’ that belong to him that are in His church. For nearly 2000 years, millions have died for Christ as they knew the promise of union with Christ and a kingdom where truth and justice would reign! But does the Church of the ‘west’ really grasp what this means? Of course not! We have a Christianity which is about a ‘faith’ bolted onto our comfortable and compromised lifestyles to where we live. We do not truly desire to be where Christ is and be with Him, but if you were at the mercy of terrorists cruelly treating you and persecuting you, you may well be desiring Christ a bit keener!
Jesus makes it pretty clear what ‘Church’ and Bride have an open door. The church of Philadelphia in Revelation 3 verse 7 onwards lays out the qualities He is seeing! In verse 10 Jesus promises the Church that ‘He WILL’ remove you from the hour of trial that is to come and try those who dwell on earth. The true Church knows that we dwell now with Christ! Jesus keeps His Word – He always does!
In Song of Songs chapter 5, verses 6 and 7, we see a most ‘distressing’ picture of a betrothed bride being left behind. She is devastated to have discovered that her ‘groom’ has left without her. We read from verses 5:-“I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had turned and gone. My soul failed me when he spoke. I sought him, but found him not;
I called him, but he gave no answer. 7 The watchmen found me as they went about in the city; they beat me, they bruised me, they took away my veil,”
This particular ‘bride’ was not ready! In actual fact, her veil was taken away because she was found not to be a true bride! Jesus knows who His are. It is so important that the western church wake up and be the ‘True Bride.’ You have been warned.
Love Jesus with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength. Lest you be left behind and needing to explain to the world what has just happened.
