In the book of Ezekiel chapter 37, we see a familiar story of the Valley of dry bones. Ezekiel is commanded to prophesy to the bones, that the breath of God would come upon them, and they would stand and become an army! This scripture written some 2500 years passed would be fulfilled when from nothing and death, Israel became a nation in 1948.
From death to life, to fulfil the Word of God! That is our story with Christ! The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 5, “even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ” Those who are made to new life in Christ, are part of His army, His Church bringing the good news of salvation to all nations!
In this army we need each other. Fighting is tiring and we are not fighting an ordinary battle but of one “against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”(Ephesians 6:12) Let us run the race together as a Church in prayer, servant hearted and enduring this race set before us towards the calling of Christ Jesus.
Most of all – let us love Jesus with All we have and let us continue to love one another. This is the Church that He has placed an open door before. Any door He opens no one shuts!
Dry bones awaken indeed!!
